Windblown Shingle Replacement

A common type of roof leak comes from windblown shingles ripping, or flying off, during heavy rain storms, exposing holes in the underlayment. RR&W can replace any windblown shingles and also find and seal loose shingles that could blow off during the next big storm with heavy winds. This will save you from expensive drywall repairs on your ceiling from water penetrating your deck that has been exposed and leaking too long. General inspection and maintenance is the key here.

Roof Inspection & Repair

Another common type of roof leak comes from exposed fasteners, screws and nails on boots, jacks and vents. By simply sealing these fasteners and making sure they don’t rust, expand, and then come loose creating holes where water will get in and rot your decking, RR&W can save you a lot of money on unnecessary roof repairs and extend the life of your roof to last the life of your insurance policy. It typically takes only a few hundred dollars to seal all boots, vents and flashing on an average size roof, whereas it will usually cost over $600 just to replace one area of rotten decking. When there is one vent or boot that is coming loose then there is usually several more about to come loose right around the corner.

Don’t wait for the next big storm to tell you your roof is leaking. The best time to do this kind of work, along with most types of waterproofing is in the Summer when it’s nice and dry outside. So have RR&W come out to inspect and seal your roof all in the same day to save you a major headache down the road. This one’s a No Brainer !

Chimney Repair

Being another hole right through your roof, sealing all areas of your chimney is key to a leak free roof. Common types of chimney leaks we often see are from flashing, cracked or missing mortar, a cracked concrete chimney cap, or a vent or metal cap on top with unsealed seams. By simply sealing up these common leaking areas, you can rest easy at night knowing that water will not penetrate your roof.

Flashing repair

Just as with exposed fasteners on boots and vents, it’s also important to seal fasteners on all flashing before water can get in and do it’s damage. This is an easy and cost effective way to make sure you don’t see those dreaded brown stains on your ceiling after the next rain storm !

We will inspect all the flashing on your roof and then seal above and below the fastneners and seams with a commercial grade sealant that will best match your roof making sure that it doesn’t come loose and cause you problems in the future.

Power Washing

Exhaust from cars and organic matter from parapet caps, balconies and roofs can cause your building to look down right ugly and appear older than it really is. By simply power washing the mold, mildew and exhaust stains from your building you can make your building look almost brand new again. Although it may be impossible to remove 100% of all stains without taking measures that could become cost prohibitive for most customers, a simple once over with a high pressure sprayer can make a big difference in the appearance of your building. At RR&W we have cleaned many different types of structures but again and again we see that Limestone buildings hold the most stains and exhaust and we can make them become bright and new again with our nontoxic and nondestructive techniques to provide years of beauty for you and your customers.

Water Repellents

It’s a good idea to apply a repellent to all brick and stone after power washing your building, The water repellent acts like a wax after a car wash providing a protective barrier to keep the mold and mildew from penetrating into the pores of your brick and stone making it much easier to clean next time. There are several types of water repellents. Some are made of salt crystals and some are made of Silicone. RR&W can apply a test sample for you to see which kind may be best to protect your building and look good for years to come.

Gutter Cleaning

On almost every home we go to we see that gutters are often neglected. Rather than taking a chance on getting on a dangerous roof or ladder, call RR&W to come out and clean your gutters for you. We can even set you up on a bi-annual cleaning program to take care of the hassle for you. Failure to clean your gutters not only clogs the downspouts but also can lead to water building up in the middle of the gutter causing it to sag and pull away from the fascia leading to expensive re-alignment or replacement of your gutters altogether. Again, maintenance is the key to keeping your repair costs down and your gutters flowing freely like they should to pull water away from your roof and possibly overflowing into your home or building.

Warranty - 2 Year Warranty on all Sealant Work

Waterproofing can be a process of elimination. With our 20+ years in the business, we see the same types of leaks over and over again. 90% of the time we can solve the problem our first time out. With that said, around 10% of the time additional work will be required for an additional cost once the obvious sources of water infiltration are sealed. We give a 2 Year Warranty on all Sealant work and guarantee that our sealant will hold up for at least 2 years. Actually, once installed it should remain flexible and hold up with seasonal movement and not crack or separate from the structure for the life of the sealant, which is usually 10-15 years.

Exclusions – Hydro – Action Grout Injections

This process is done from the inside (Negative Waterproofing) and will most likely take more injections before all, or most, of the water, can be stopped. This technique involves drilling holes in the bottom of a concrete wall to intersect the keyway in the slab and filling the holes with a hydro-active grout that expands with water. Injections, whenever possible to use, will save time and money by not having to dig out the dirt from the outside to waterproof the below-grade wall.
